(Project) Engineer Offshore Equipment
Last updated one month agoVuyk Engineering Rotterdam is currently looking for an experienced engineer, who wants to develop to a project engineer in the near future. You already have a solid background in engineering, where you have been involved in different stages of engineering for projects related to heavy equipment and/or machinery. In these projects, your focus has been for example on FEA analysis, Concept Designs or 3D Cad engineering.
This role will be your starting point at Vuyk, but with learning on the job, help of your colleagues and different courses we will develop you as project engineer who will be responsible for future offshore equipment projects from start till finish. Your responsibilities as a project engineer already starts in the tender/estimation phase, where you’ll help our sales team with client requests, proposals and estimations. Once the project starts, you’re responsible for the total design, FEA analyses and 3D cad designs and will be managing other engineers and designers (multidisciplinary) during the project. Besides the technical responsibilities, you’re responsible for client contact, budgets, planning and optimizing internal processes as well.
There are multiple projects at once and with your team you’ll work on heavy equipment projects like cable lay-, pipelay-, dredging- and heavy lift equipment.
- Meeting with clients and make estimations, budgets and planning
- Lead a multidiscipline team of engineers and designers during the project
- Making all type of calculations like hand-, excel- and FEM calculations
- Making (detailed) design models with CAD software like Autocad and Solid Edge based on your calculations
- Discuss progress with your clients and department manager
- Msc in Mechanical Engineering or comparable
- Around 5 years of experience within heavy equipment design and concepts
- Experience with FEM and design software, preferably Ansys and Solid Edge
- Experience with strength calculations, hand calculations, mechanics
- Experience with complex heavy equipment projects
- Excellent skills in both Dutch and English
- Excellent salary and working conditions
